ECOM Consulting, Inc. has multiple openings for the position of Network Engineer with a M.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or any related field and one year of experience, preferably in developing test plans and conducting manual testing and Perl scripting for L2/L3 protocols and a thorough understanding on concepts related to the Nexus 7000 Platform.
Duties: Maintain and Administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations; Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future; Configure and Test Layer 3 routing protocols; Configure BGP, OSPF, and BFD; Execute several test cases involving QoS concepts like Traffic Shaping and Policing; Write detail feature test plans, design test bed design, and test topologies; Provide technical support of IOS products such as Cat6500 and Nexus 7000 routers; act as a technical expert in routing/switching; Provide systems/product training; act as a focal point of large account network problem resolution; Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors; Apply known solutions to solve problems.
